Family Trees

How do different households—and their stories—show up in art across time? Kick off the weekend at Kimbell Casual Friday: Family Trees.

Warm up with a lively round of Family Feud: Kimbell Edition, then head into the galleries to sketch your own tree inspired by collection highlights. Discover themes of kinship and tradition through an ancient Egyptian statue, an intimate scene of a shared meal at home, and a powerful African sculpture honoring a founding matriarch.

Bring friends and a sense of adventure for interactive gallery experiences that mingle different ways of looking at art through guided conversation, sketching activities, and the occasional friendly competition.

This free, forty-five-minute program occurs once a month during the Kimbell Café’s regular Happy Hour; no reservations necessary.
