This recently restored masterwork of German Expressionist cinema, directed by F.W. Murnau, features an aging hotel doorman whose happiness crumbles when he is relieved of the duties and uniform which had for years been the foundation of his happiness and pride.

People on Sunday (1930, 73 min.)

A unique hybrid of documentary-fictional storytelling, this effervescent silent film about a handful of city dwellers enjoying a weekend outing would influence generations of film artists around the world. This screening will begin at 3:45 pm, after a brief intermission.
